Heal Together: Race for Sickle Cell 5K Run/Walk
Date: September 20, 2025, 8am-12pm
Location: Ottawa Park
This annual 5K run/walk brings together families, healthcare professionals, advocates,
and supporters in a unified effort to raise awareness and critical funding for sickle cell
disease. Despite affecting millions globally, sickle cell disease remains underfunded and
widely misunderstood.
The Scott Center is proud to be the only nonprofit in Ohio focused specifically on
supporting sickle cell patients as they transition from pediatric to adult care. Our
programming provides advocacy, education, and direct support for over 1,000 families
across Northwest Ohio.
We would be honored to have your organization involved in any of the following ways:
Sponsor the event at one of our partnership levels (Silver, Gold, Diamond, or
Platinum)
Register a team to run or walk and show your support
Become a vendor and connect with hundreds of attendees
Make a donation in support of our mission , if you are unable to attend
All funds raised will support programming that improves health outcomes and quality of
life for individuals living with sickle cell disease.

Ten minutes of your time could save lives. Sickle Cell Disease patients are in desperate need of blood donations. Through blood donation, individuals with this disease can circumvent issues such as anemia, tissue damage, and more. Those of African descent are especially critical in blood donation, due to being an ethnic blood match.
Every donation can make a difference. Contact the American Red Cross to set up a local blood drive or schedule an appointment.
Announcing a powerful collaboration for Toledo! The Scott Center for Observation, Treatment and Transition and The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio are joining forces, marking a historic milestone for our city.
Get ready to celebrate with us at the Grand Opening on June 15, 2024, at 10 am. This momentous occasion coincides with
World Sickle Cell Day, recognized globally on June 19th. We extend a special invitation to our community to witness this groundbreaking partnership firsthand.
Together, we aim to forge enduring connections and make a lasting, positive impact within our community. Join us as we embark on this journey of collaboration and empowerment!
